TRANSLATOR TASK 1

My name is Amparo Camacho Sánchez and this week I have been the translator.

The task for this week was to create an image for every phrase related to the terms "learning", "teaching" and "education".

My role this week consists on outline 5 terms that we consider outstanding related to the task of this week. As we have viewed the terms mentioned above, I am going to define them based on our own perception, and also the tools we have used for the activity.

The main 5 terms in this task have been "Padlet", "Instagram", "learning", "teaching" and "education".

• PADLET: 

For this activity we have used Padlet, which is an interactive collaboration whiteboard. It is very useful since everyone can put any multimedia resources that everyone is watching at the same time. We used it to put the images with every phrase related to it and then present them.

• INSTAGRAM:

We have created an account on Instagram to post everything we will be doing during the course. Instagram is a platform where people post photos and videos. Everyone can see them, commenting on or giving likes. We use the hashtag  RICT2021# to post the photos and see the other publications.

• LEARNING

This is one of the concepts that we have viewed in this task. It is a difficult concept to define since it has different meanings for each person. We see it as the process of achieving something new that can be applied for something. It can be knowledge, skills or anything, it is a lifelong process that never stops. The two phrases we have used for this concept were:

- Learning is the only thing the mind never exhaust, never fears, and never regret (Leonardo Da Vinci)

- Never stop learning, because life never stops teaching.

• TEACHING

It is another concept we have viewed in this task. It is the process in which people transfer his or her knowledge, values, skills to another person. There are many ways of teaching depending on the values of each person. The two phrases we have used for this concept are:

- I cannot teach anybody anything, I can only make them think (Sócrates) 

- Tell me and I forget. Teach me and I remenber. Involve me and I learn ( Benjamin Franklin)

•  EDUCATION

The last main concept is education. We can say that learning and teaching take part in the process of education. It is beyond just academic knowledge, it starts when we are born and ends when we die. We are constanly learning, that is, we are always being educated. 

We are being educated by our parents, by our teachers, by our friends and by the society in general. The two phrases we have used for this concept are:

- Educators are artist, the education is work of art (Octavi Fullst)

- Education is not preparation for life; education is life itself (John Dewey)

These terms are very connected with each other, none of them take part without one. They have many definitions for everyone, we tried to build these definitions based on our own perception, having in mind that we still have so much to learn about them.
