CURATOR TASK 7

Hello everyone, I am Marina and this week I am the curator.

I have had to collect all the links of the sources(whether books, online platforms, websites...)that we have used during this task and put them in the Apa style.

I have created a mind map where you can acces to all the places where we have worked in and the activities that we have created. This week we haven't used any type of books for doing the activity so all the references are from online websites. I will let the references right after the link to the mind map.

 I hope you enjoy it!

ANALYST TASK 7

Hello fantastic people!! I’m Amparo and this week I’ve been the analyst. I’m in charge of the weekly evaluation of the group members’ performance and making a reflection.

For this week we had to make a podcast talking about our experience trying the platform “The Hour of Code”, many teachers use it in order to promote computer science. We coded three games there for ages between two and five years old. We recorded everything we did and then on Monday we recorded the podcast for Tuesday.

At first, our experience coding was resulting quite complicated. We were having difficulties with the first game. We were starting to frustrate as we did not know the right way to do it and we spent most of our morning trying to figure it out. At the moment we understood it going step by step, we coded two games in the time we coded the first one. I could say this was the hardest part of the week.

On the other hand, the moment of preparing and recording the podcast was more bearable. I felt that everyone was doing their work without wasting time. We could let what we were going to say the afternoon before Tuesday. Then, on Tuesday’s morning, we agreed which parts were going to say, assigning each one of us a part.

Unquestionably, this activity has helped us as future teachers. Living in a world constantly changing and, currently, in terms of technology and digital tools, we believe it is extremely important to prepare the children for their future as much as we can. Technology is a big part of our lives, so this kind of activities must be worked at school.

Furthermore, presenting the task in a podcast gave us the idea that we could do this in the future to record us explaining something to the children, or to do a similar activity with them. As is a creative way of presenting come content, they would be more interested and motivated to listen to it or create one them.

Indeed, I feel like the group has improved so much in terms of production. We are being more productive each week. As we know each other more, we know how we work together, we do not waste time. Also, knowing how the teacher wants the work, we prepare the tasks faster and better. I hope we will stay like this for the rest of the course and even better.

In conclusion, while doing this task I felt that everyone was contributing and we were understanding each other very well. We were enjoying the activity so much once we had understood how to code, as for the majority of us was the first time doing it. In general, we believe we are doing a good job and we work very good together, we all respect others ideas and take them into account.

This is the reflection for this week, hope you find it interesting. Have a great week!!

FACILITATOR TASK 7

My name is Mari Carmen and this week I have been the facilitator.

As this role states, my function is to make easier the group configuration, motivating my peers, being responsible for the conflict mediation, checking everything my peers post on the blog and updating it as well as Instagram to have everything organized.

The task of this week, task 7, consists of choose 3 different games to create them with coding, so in Thursday´s class the teacher explained how to do it and for the next Thursday we had to have made this task and a radio program created with the information of it.

So once we had this task clear, I started to organize the job in my group. In addition, I have to say that this week in spite of being a bit overwhelmed because of the number of tasks we have, I must confess that in the end we had a lot of fun doing it so I didn´t have to motivate my group too much since a party game we chose did it itself.

We spend some time doing it but the good part of it is that we have learned lot of things such as coding.

Finally, for finished this task we worked together as a team. When the work finish, I congratulated my peers for the effort and the amazing job they did and also, we enjoy a lot viewing our radio program and everything we had done. So, I have to say that I have Fantas-TIC girls in my group!!!

See you soon, and I hope you enjoy watching the process we have followed while doing the task!!

STAR TASK 7

Hello everyone! I am Elena and this week I was the Star of my group.

In this task we were required to test three activities from a website which is composed of games that allow children to learn about coding: https://hourofcode.com/us/gb/learn

After doing this, the second part of this week’s task was something quite new and different to what we are used to doing: we had to present our work in a Podcast format. As I was the Star, I was the one being interviewed by my group mates about the three games that we chose. Once the Podcast was finished we uploaded it to Google Drive and then I was in charge of sending the link to Linda by a private message in the LMS.

I enjoyed this way of presenting the activities because it is something I never thought I would do and the process of doing it was funny and entertaining —tho it was a bit frustrating as well, I had to repeat my sentences many times to get them right.

Overall this task has been one that we have enjoyed a lot, both doing the process and then putting together the presentation. In case you are curious about our Podcast and want to hear all about the three activities we chose, you only need to go to this link: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1tYcYnAsAd33gOsaHCSUfpISdvgNq913Q/view

Thank you for reading me! See you next week.

ANALYST TASK 6

Hello again!!! I´m Victoria Corredor Argudo. This week I´m the analyst and my role consist on evaluating my workmates effort.

The best part of the activity has been looking for information about our region because in this way, we have learned many things about it too. The worst part was the creation of the Story Map because this was the first time that we were using that app but it has been a good experience because we have discovered it.

The best time of the week was Sunday, as we finished the job and we were very effective and we finished it sooner than we had expected, so we were really proud of ourselves. The worst moment was the creation of the Pecha Kucha, because we had to integrate the slides very well with the time required in each one. What we have learned this week has been the use of apps like Tom's planner which we had never used before.

As far as I concerned we work incredible well together because we are like a puzzle where each one is a piece and contributes something different that complements the others. We are very empathetic with each other and we get along very well with each other. I consider that we are like a family and we are always trying to work together. If we need to do several things in a very short range of time, we divide ourselves in different rooms and by this way, we can do different things together at the same time.

Talking about the things that we need to improve I agree with the last analyst that we may improve trying to be less distracted while we are working because we tend to talk about other things but we quickly get back to work.

This content is very related with our degree because we have seen how to organize and I believe that in every range of live, organization is a really important fact and something that should be teach since a person is little.

JOURNALIST TASK 6

 Hello fantas-tic people!!

I am Amparo and this week I have been the journalist. I have created a presentation with everything we have done during this week.

CURATOR TASK 6

Hello everyone! It’s Elena, the curator of this week. I was in charge of compiling in APA style the links of the websites, books and online platforms that we have used in the process of making this task.

I have created this mind map where all the APA references appear, including the links for looking at my classmates’ work —which I highly recommend, both groups did a very clear and interesting work.

TASK 5 ClassDojo

Hello! I am Elena Belver Morales and this week I was the Star, as all my other group members.

I chose the app ClassDojo, which I had never heard of but I was pleasantly surprised to see how useful and well organised it was.

I was required to evaluate this app through a rubric for eLearning Tool Evaluation and carry out a privacy evaluation in this web page: https://privacy.commonsense.org/
