Hello everyone! I am Elena and this past week I played the role of the Facilitator, which means I was in charge of easing the group collaboration.
This week the task consisted of putting together a PLE (Personal Learning Environment) with the aspects that we needed to learn how to create a Youtube channel, a Twitter account and an online announcement board —we chose Classroom as our announcement board.
As my job was to distribute the work and to act as a leader, I suggested completing the task as soon as possible so that we would have more free time on the weekend. Everyone agreed, so we scheduled a Zoom meeting for Friday morning, before our Student diversity course.
On Friday, the first thing we did was, as a whole group, looking at the task and the different tools in order to understand them and make sure everyone knew what we were required to do. Here is a photo of all of us working together on Friday morning via Zoom:
After this, we divided our group into mini-groups as the task required, so that each mini-group was in charge of a different tool. Once we had collected everything we needed for each tool, we went back to the common room in Zoom and we created the PLE, taking into consideration the ideas each of us had and the information we had compiled.
I have to say that performing my role was relatively easy since it is very unlikely that there are conflicts between us and everyone was already motivated. Still, I did my best to lead my group and encourage them —at this point of the academic year we all can use a little bit of extra motivation. As part of my job, I also have to upload the blog and revise my group members' posts, which I will be doing in the next few days.
Thank you for reading me one more week. See you soon!
